More Hawaii Pictures

We visited Pearl Harbor..  This is the USS Bowfin a submarine commissioned on Dec. 7, 1942 exactly one year after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor.

USS Missouri on the left and the USS Arizona Memorial on the right. We had planned to take a boat out to the memorial but they were canceled due to high winds.

The USS Blue was on a list of ships that were in Pearl Harbor the day of the attack. The ship was named after a distant relative.

Chart showing locations of all ships on that day.

Bombs and torpedoes use by the Japanese.

Our Trip to Hawaii

Although our 50th wedding anniversary is not until August, our kids gifted us with a trip to Hawaii which we took a couple of weeks ago.  Here are some photos of our adventure on that visually delicious island:

Honolulu from the air.

Hungry from the long flight we stopped for lunch at the Fresh Catch restaurant.
Crab Stuffed Ahi, the first and best meal we ate on the island.

At this lookout you can see the windward side of the island and the
sheer cliffs of the Koolau mountains.

The wind was blowing so hard Dorothy and I removed our glasses
to avoid them being blown off our heads.

This tree had some strange looking roots.
