Yesterday was Dorothy's birthday and last night I took her out to dinner at Sam's Club. We walked hand in hand through the frozen food section pausing at each station manned by senior citizens anxious to offer us their delectable morsels. Dorothy lingered near the fresh fruit cups while I gravitated toward the deep fried quesadillas awash with melted cheese and grease.
I was just being facetious. We did go to Sam's but with the baby being born and all the fire calls I've been on we just didn't have time to celebrate her birthday until tonight. We went to the Echota House, an old house with two fireplaces that has been turned into a restaurant. Dorothy had the prime rib, and I tried the buffalo and quail. A delicious meal that came with hot rolls and baked potatoes loaded with sour cream, cheese, and bacon bits.
So now we're back home getting comfortable and hoping the fire pager doesn't go off.

You had my attention there in the beginning with that taking the wife out to Sam's Club for dinner. How funny! I'll keep that in mind should I ever become that desperate. It probably isn't all that funny. I'm sure that some old boy they call "Bubba" (may be a realative of mine) has already done it for true.
I've suggested to hubby this very same thing - errands and lunch at the same time. Truly, you can get full on all the samples they offer.
It would be unseemly to take off for a fire, trailing cheese and bacon bits...
My boys eat their way through Sam's Club too. I'm just glad Dorothy got such a great meal. Your pictures of her cooking are mouthwatering....I think she deserved it!
