quote of the day

“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts.”

-Mark Twain

I'm sorry to say that I know people who have developed a snobbery or exclusive feeling because of their travel. They brag about the places they've been, the status of the various hotels they've stayed in, etc. etc. Oh how I wish Twain were right about this, but I'm afraid I can't agree.

I agree with you Wally. I am not the same person I was before living overseas. If I could, I would make every high school graduate go to another country and earn their way back to the USA. I think they would appreciate other cultures more, and certainly our own country once they realized how good we've got it.
