quote of the day

The most beautiful and profound emotion we can experience is the sensation of the mystical. It is the sower of all true science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead. To know that what is impenetrable to us really exists, manifesting itself as the highest wisdom and the most radiant beauty, which our dull faculties can comprehend only in their primitive forms--this knowledge, this feeling, is at the center of true religion.
--Albert Einstein

Retirement is definitely the time to exercise that sense of wonder. One of the things I've loved the most about being retired is the opportunity to sit down and really, really listen to a CD, and read the lyrics. I thought music was important in my life before, but since I've been in touch with the genius of songwriters, there's a whole new depth to it for me.

Came by way of somebody, but I spent so much time reading back on your blog, I can't remmember who it was.
