Our vacations have always been in the summer, but now that I've retired it was nice to roll across the desert in cool weather instead of 100+ degrees heat. The first day of driving was cloudy and it started to rain as we approached the Baymont Inn in Albuquerque. There was a Cracker Barrel restaurant nearby and we had dinner and settled in for an evening of tv and reading at the hotel.
